Our Target Group & Scope

Our employment services are offered to job seekers who are legally employable in HKSAR, including holders of Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card OR holders of non-Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card and valid travel document, who are free from any condition of stay or subject to a valid time limit of stay only.

Labour Department provides job seekers with a full range of free employment services. Good use of our services makes job hunt easy. Below shows how you can step by step get through our services to reach your ideal job :

Register

You may register online or in person or make easy registration in any Job Centre (please click here for information on Job Centres).

(After registration, you may post your profile (personal data will NOT be displayed) on our website for employers' browsing.)

Search Jobs

You may search jobs online or by going to our Job Centres or obtain job information in our recruitment activities, through Vacancy Search Terminals located at various locations and "Interactive Employment Service" Mobile Application.

You may receive "Job Alert" by email if you have already registered online.

Apply for Jobs

If the job shows the contact information of the employer, you may contact the employer direct. If it does not show the contact information of the employer, you may call the Telephone Employment Service Hotline (2969 0888) or approach our Job Centres for referral.

If the job accepts "Online Application", registered job seekers may apply online to submit an online application.

Interview

You may refer to our Job Hunting Briefcase or the website of Youth Employment Start (www.e-start.gov.hk) for equipping yourself for interview.

Our Performance Pledge

We commit to achieve the following standard of services:

  • Provide every fresh registrant with written guidelines on employment service.
  • Provide employment advisory services to job seekers within 30 minutes of appointment time.
  • Provide job referral service to job seekers within 30 minutes of appointment time.
  • Provide telephone employment service to job seekers on the following working day after they forward their "Easy Registration Form" to a Job Centre.
  • Provide job seekers with weekly information on the number of top-ten vacancies available in the Job Centre.
  • 90% of vacancy information processed within five working days following the date of receipt.
